Haar in Fittie

Footdee locally known as Fittie, is a quaint area of Aberdeen City, Scotland.

A former fishing village, it lies at the entrance to Aberdeen Harbour. The name appears to mean "foot of the Dee" and offers a unique glimpse into the past of Aberdeens Harbour history.

I wanted to capture it’s harsh light that is created when a haar comes in from the cold North Sea in winter. It engulfs the sky and leaves this ethereal looking glow amongst the harbour infrastructure.

Fittie holds many great memories in my heart and will forever be a place of home for me, even if I no longer bide there.

I miss it dearly.
